ECO JUICES ECO-RESPONSIBLE THERAPEUTIC JUICES AND TEAS.
Background.
During the pandemic, medicinal plants and traditional medicine have experienced great contempt. This is because industrial medicine has now found the mine of vaccines and genetically manipulated products, which are competing with chemical pharmaceutical products.
In both cases, the important thing is the business of patents, which is the great problem of medicines in pharmaceutical laboratories, which for 10 years have the right to be exclusive producers of medicines and vaccines, obtained based on studies of the properties, effects and undesirable reactions of chemical products, or biological products.
Among the biological products that have penetrated the drug, market are the bacterial flora at the head, which even like vitamins, are added to foods such as yogurt.
But the overwhelming business of vaccines and laboratory tests to detect the cobid virus has such a dimension that it surpasses the drug trafficking business, which after the wars, became the second largest business in the world, in this first quarter of the XXI century.
The fundamental problem with the curative use of medicinal plants is that patents on medicinal plants, which have been used by ancestral cultures and nationalities, have been banned in the world. In Ecuador, there is a specific law that prohibits the patent on medicines that use medicinal plants or their active ingredients, after an American seized the patent for the use of drago blood and ayahuasca and the Pfiser laboratories, tried to patent an anesthetic from the tricolor toad, from the Amazon, from which an anesthetic 100 times more powerful than morphine is obtained, and not addictive. The tricolor toad is used by the natives of the Amazon in hunting darts to kill animals.
This is the fundamental reason why medicinal plants are only interesting for laboratories until the active principle can be synthesized, such as what happened with quinine, which was Ecuador's first export product until the beginning of the 20th century, when it was synthesized from the bark of quinine the antimalarial called chloroquine, when England, which had a monopoly on quinine, tried to prevent the advance of Nazi troops in Africa since malaria had destroyed Napoleon's army on that continent.
Many medicines, such as cephalosporins, which were obtained from Amazonian plants, did not mean that pharmaceutical laboratories allocated part of their profits to protect the Amazon, or to indigenous cultures, whose ancestral knowledge was stolen to do these enormous businesses.
On the other hand, the disappearance of forests in the world, whether due to the expansion of the urban or agricultural frontier, or due to fires, due to climate change, has raised the need for reforestation for humanity, but the fundamental problem of reforestation with timber trees, is that when they are of a certain height, they are cut down, in view of this, reforestation with fruit trees, which help birds, insects, or even human beings seems to be a better alternative.
This leads us to think about the possibility of popularizing businesses that sell therapeutic, refreshing or invigorating teas or fruit juices, that rescue the knowledge of medicinal plants from ancient cultures, that buy teas or juices from them, starting from the possibility of dehydrating the leaves, freezing the pulp of the fruits, which allows the flowers and the pulp to be used long after the harvest.
The interesting thing is that these medicinal plants and this fruit pulp come from protected or reforested areas, since it is about developing the economy of environmental protection, to stop the economy of environmental destruction, which has prospered since the development of Industrial production.
The economy of environmental protection, includes the use of solar energy, especially renewable energies, to replace polluting energies, such as energy derived from petroleum, or even nuclear energy, which although it has made great progress, that allows energy generation for many years, from enriched uranium and other radioactive products, and that it is possible that the residues are less and less, they are still highly polluting, the worst thing is that they can upset genetics in cells, giving rise to deformed or modified beings, which can destroy life or modify it. At this time the use of fossil fuels has become climate change that already threatens all life on the planet.
In addition to the use of solar energy, it is necessary to change the habits of the population such as recycling, saving, and prolonged use of something, since the time of consumers or consumers has created an environmental disaster of such proportions, that Planet Earth consumes all the resources available for human life, in just half a year, at this time, stealing the following year and the next generation of this species, the resources necessary for its existence. Being a consumer and boasting of using something only once, or eating something exotic, came to be considered a vanity of the ignorant and stupid, especially the rich.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
Create a stall selling juices and teas, especially therapeutic teas, and handicrafts, which come from trees and plants protected through reserves or reforestation projects.
METHOD
On Avenida Amazonas N21.217 and Ramón Roca, in Quito, headquarters of the Ecotrackers Foundation, in the center of the capital of Ecuador, in the most mega-diverse country per Km2, the first stall for selling juices and therapeutic teas, chocolate, ´but above all they sell teas, fruit pulp and juices, as well as handicrafts, coming from protected or reforested areas, using the teas and fruit pulp that are already on the market, as a tip spearheading marketing, to interest people in teas, chololates or juices from protected and reforested areas, which would have a higher price, since the highest price is what people pay to protect and plant trees, plants medicinal plants, or useful plants, thus helping to save biodiversity, creating eco-responsible awareness, among farmers who live in protected or reforested areas, or those who buy their products, who together assume the responsibility of protecting biodiversity of those places.
COMPLEXITY
The problem with selling both types of tea, chocolate, and fruit or fruit pulps, or handicrafts, both from plantations and from protected and reforested areas, is that for the buyers, there is no way to verify whether the juices, chololates, crafts, and teas are from protected areas, or ecologically reforested. So, the project proposes to the consumer, that it be through the purchase of these products the godfather, of a tree, because 10 cents of each juice, chocolate, tea that he buys or drinks allows him to plant a tree personally or from a distance, and monitor via the internet its growth, its use, making it the godfather of a tree.
SUPPORT MECHANISM FOR TREES IN PROTECTED OR REFORESTED AREAS.
The Ecotrackers foundation, which verifies the origin of the product, identifies the trees that are going to be protected by means of GPS plates, if possible or with identification plates, as well as visits by the foundation and the sponsors, who follow with photos and videos the growth and use of the tree. Each godfather helps monitor the growth and life of the trees he adopts, helped by others who come to plant or visit other trees in that protected or reforested area and verify that the tree is the same one that they have been protecting for a long time.
FIRST PLANTING PLACES OF TREES, MEDICINAL PLANTS, TREES OR USEFUL PLANTS
The project has been initiated by the sale of teas and medicinal plants and handicrafts from protected areas of the Ilinizas Reserve, which ranges from the paramo at 4,000 meters above sea level to 1,400 meters above sea level in the cloud forest of the Andes mountain range, near Quito. , on the Quito road, Santo Domingo, where basically what is obtained comes from guaviduca, dragon's blood, alder, walnut and quinine trees,
In second place are the products of the forest of the Galera San Francisco Reserve, on the south coast of the province of Esmeraldas. This is the first marine reserve in South America, and where the Spanish conquerors built the first lighthouse in the South Pacific. In this place, which has remains of the last tropical humid forest of the South American Pacific, it is possible to have fruits such as coconut, star apple, chotaduro, soursop, guava, borojó, pineapple, papaya, sapote, huaba, orange, tangerine, and various kinds of bananas. Here the peasants plant the fine aroma cocoa, with the particularity that they plant it under the shade of other trees, which is the peculiarity of that cacao, called fine aroma, in the same way a variety of cocoa is planted under the shade of other trees. Arabic coffee, among the medicinal trees of the reserve, is the sande, from which milk used as a dewormer is obtained, the guayusa, the limocillo, the leaves of aromatic trees such as lemon, and more.
Among the useful plants that are planted and used in indigenous cultures, there is the penco in the Sierra, from which an alcoholic beverage is obtained, a fruit that is called a caper, it is used for socas and zuelas of espadrilles, this The plant is used to stop erosion, in addition, hats, handicrafts, even toys are made with the paramo straw, baskets are made with the reed, or with the tortora, mats, purses, shoes, etc. With the wood of timber trees such as the red manzano, the cedar, or the medronio, handicrafts are made, so it is useful to let them grow and then use their branches or the wood of old trees,
On the coast, balsa, which is the lightest wood, or tagua, which is the hardest seed, known as vegetable ivory, is used to make handicrafts, as is piquigua, or hardwoods, such as tropical ebony, or the mangrove, the guadua cane to make handicrafts.
FIRST YEAR GOALS
1.-In the first year, the aim is to stabilize and make profitable the business of selling juices, teas and chocolate, and handicrafts from protected and reforested areas in a way that allows paying for the premises, basic services, taxes, improving equipment, and at least the basic salary of a person who sells, with a profit of 10% on the total investment.
2.- In the first year, the aim is to have one hundred sponsors of one hundred trees, who consume at least 10 dollars a month of juices, pulps, handicrafts, cocoa, or medicinal plants.
3. In the first year, the aim is to have the first drying plant and contract a company for the packaging of medicinal plants, and contract a company that obtains the pulp and packages the pulp of the selected fruits from the protected and reforested areas.
4. Have at least 10 artisans who produce handicrafts and art with products from protected and reforested areas.
ASPIRATION IN SUCCESSIVE YEARS
Create franchises around the world of juices, that sell juices, teas, chocolate, handicrafts, made by native, indigenous, and black communities, of each country, that contain knowledge, identity, and values, with fruits, and renewable raw materials from areas protected, used and obtained with ecological conscience.
